1km swim in 19'43" - which i think is a PB
Then 5km on the bike at level 13 to 15, but probably levels were too easy
Then 3km on the treadmill, at pace better than 12km/hr
Transitions not really important, as not trying to do these too fast

Stoney sprint try number 2
1 hour, 1 minute and 2 seconds. 24 seconds faster than last time.
Swim 8'18" (400m) - 7 seconds worse
Bike: 29'03" (about 15 seconds faster than last time)
Run: 21'45 (5-20 seconds slower than last time, depending on chip or Garmin) - distance 4.43km
Transitions: T1 faster, T2 slower.
Have to do the analysis properly, to see where the gains and losses were in detail.

Stonehaven novice tri race day
Cold and rainy. 400m swim in 8'11" (probably better than 8' for the swim only), 13km on the bike in 29'16" (average 26.7km/hr) and the run 4.48km in 21'41" - average pace 4'50". Very pleased with that.
And I beat Kevin Morrice!
Better transitions, and I jettisoned socks, gloves and went with running shoes only. All good.

Race Day!
Well, today was the day for the Knockburn standard tri.
Lovely sunshine, no wind to start. Perfect.
Swim was 30'57", bike 1 hour 30'57" and run 54'40". Transitions added 2'57" and 1'00", to make a total time 3 hours and 34 seconds. Distance not recorded on nike+ (no headphones - race day)
T1 was clearly not a success.
Obvious target for next year then.

Olympic distance sorted - in 32 hours
Did a 10km at the gym, onthe treadmill, and 10.7, then 11 and last km at 12 km/hr. Total time 55'31"
Diddled out of 680m by the Nike+ though. Felt great, despite yesterday's 40km on the bike and 1500m swim.

A New Year, new target
Right. Here we are at the end of 2010, weighing 77 kg, and with the West Wight Triathlon (2 hours, 9 minutes), and the Methlick Duathlon (1hr 32 minutes) under my belt.
So that's the baseline. I've got "before" photos stored with gut sucked in and gut relaxed from the front and side.
In 2011, the aim is to complete an Olympic distance triathlon (1500m swim, 40 km bike, 10km run - target times: 30 minutes, 90 minutes, 55 minutes plus 5 for transitions - total time 3 hours) as well as do the West Wight triathlon again in a better time, and various other 10k runs (Garioch, maybe Edinburgh) and some other du/triathlons (Westhill, Inverurie, Bennachie, Banchory, Huntly (sprint).
On this blog, I'll try to keep a cumulative total of distances and times, as well as race results so we can all see the changes and hopefully improvements through the year.
Another objective is to run 1,000 km through the year and get my swim time for 1,500m to less than 30 minutes by using Total Immersion techniques more.
And I'll be coming out for sponsorship as specific events emerge!
