27th March: A quick 25km before dinner with Daria's parents. On the new bike, at 24.9km/h

30km on the static bike in just under an hour - level 14 Then 2km at around 10km/hr on the treadmill (ugh) 500m tempo reasonably fishy swim, then 500m in intervals breaststroke/crawl also ok

Saturday 16th March: 1.5km tempo swim (29'49") Sunday 17th: 30km static bike in gym (level 14, just under 1 hour) Wednesday 20th March: 2km + 1km treadmill running, 10km static bike Friday 22nd March (with Ellie): 5km on static bike, then 5.68 on the treadmill in 30 minutes Sunday 24th March: Run Garioch 5k - 25'01" for 4.94km Then snowy (3 inches deep, soft underfoot) at Whitehills for 4.13km

Swimming and running

8th March: 2.5km swimming in lumps of 1km, 3 x 500m First 1km ok speed, others in freestyle at 2'07"/100m (slower than 2' target) 10th March: treadmill run: 6km at 11km/hr. Wanted to go long, but snowy day and bursitis prevented it. Decided not to run Garioch 1/2M, but try the 10k. Discovered the 10k is full, so registered for the 5. 24 minutes maybe? 12th March: 2km tempo swim in 40'40" (2'02"/100m). First 1km was 9 seconds over 20 minutes. Second 1km was 30 seconds over. Felt fishy for the first time in a while though, and pushing down on chest to pop legs up seemed to work too.

Long and slow evening run in Aberdeen

10.63km at 5'32"/km (5'26"/km moving pace), but no gas at all. But small breakfast and soup only for lunch, so probably ok

2nd Feb: 20km static bike, 5km run

5th Feb: 5km warmup on the static bike, 2.5 km running at 10km/hr (30 secs), 15km/hr (30 secs)

6th Feb: 1500m swimming, at just under 30 minutes. Nice and fishy (better stroke count)

Tempo run and then longer session

Thursday 24th: 5km on the treadmill, in 24'23" (4'52"/km - according to the machinery Saturday 26th: 2km warmup at 12km/hr, then abs, then 8km at steady (long and slow) pace of 5'27"/km. Which wasn't bad.

Catching up

Monday 14th January - 2km in the pool in the gym. Reasonably fishy. Sunday 20th January- 2, then 6 then 2 km on the treadmill (mostly at around 11km/hr), but last 2km at least at 12 km/hr. Then 1 km in the pool but with no timing, so hard to know. First couple of lengths felt fantastically fishy

Cold cycle

Cold and slightly snowy (sort of snowy drizzle). First ride over the hill to Echt - 14.5k3m at 20.8km/hr (very slow). Then faster from Echt to Westhill, and back through Kirkton of Skene, Dunecht and Cluny, 32.05km at 26.0km/hr - much better (but flatter)

Beach run

Running with Minnie on the beach. 6.1km at around 6'24" moving pace. Glacial. Partly be because on a beach, partly because of training with Lyn the day before...

Very slow and painful - lots of walking, and average moving pace of 5'58"/km over 7.44km But average overall pace of 7'21"/km - including all the stops for Minnie

Saturday ride

From Inverurie to Rothienorman, Oldmeldrum and back to Inverurie. 40km at 25.4km/hr. ok but not quick enough. 4 minutes slower than my best (although that was a race day (but had 264m ascent compared with 200m today)

2km warming up at around 11km/hr Then 4 km in rough intervals: up to 12.8km/hr, but not for long, cruise at around 10km/hr (dreadful) The 1 km tempo swim in the pool: 20'22" - not too bad, and reasonably fishlike
